The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is a statutory authority under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. It is responsible for regulating food safety standards in India.
Post Details: FSSAI invites applications for 3 Legal Consultant positions on a contractual basis under Advertisement No. 01/2026 dated 08 October 2026. The initial engagement is for one year and may be extended annually up to three years, subject to performance and organisational requirements
Handle, monitor, and coordinate pending cases before courts and tribunals.
Draft, review, and vet regulations, agreements, MoUs, contracts, tenders, policies, SOPs, petitions, and counter-affidavits.
Provide legal opinions on rules, regulations, judgments, and court orders.
Coordinate with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Legal Affairs, and other authorities.
Review professional fee bills and prepare legal briefing notes for senior officials
Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.) obtained through regular study from a recognised institution.
Minimum 5 years of experience in legal matters.
Maximum age: 58 years as on the last date of application.
Law degrees obtained through open university or distance education are not accepted.
