The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is a statutory body established under the Competition Act, 2002. It is responsible for preventing practices having an appreciable adverse effect on competition, promoting and sustaining competition, protecting consumer interests and ensuring freedom of trade in Indian markets.

CCI invites applications for its Legal Internship Programme. The internship provides students with practical exposure to Competition Law, legal research and the functioning of India's competition regulator. CCI offers 15 internship seats per month.
• Conduct legal research relating to Competition Law
• Study the Competition Act, regulations and relevant case law
• Assist mentors with assigned research work
• Prepare research notes and legal analysis
• Work on topics and assignments relating to competition law and policy
• Develop practical understanding of the functioning of CCI
• 2nd and 3rd-year students of a 3-year LL.B. programme
• 4th and final-year students of a 5-year integrated law course
• Students who have completed their 3rd-year examination and are entering the 4th year may also apply
• LL.M. students may apply
• Indian Nationals only
• Students must be from recognised institutions/universities
• Exposure to Competition Law is required
• Students who already have a placement in hand are not eligible
Applicants must apply in the prescribed format and include a recommendation from the competent authority of their educational institution.
A Statement of Purpose of approximately 200 words covering the proposed topic and objectives of the study is also required.
