The Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is a statutory authority established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. It is responsible for regulating and ensuring food safety and food standards in India.

FSSAI is inviting applications for its 2026 Internship Scheme for the October–December cycle. The programme provides students with learning opportunities in food regulation and food safety administration. Law students can apply, along with students from several other disciplines.
• Assist with research relating to food regulation and food safety administration
• Undertake research and academic assignments in the allotted division
• Assist with regulatory and policy-related work
• Analyse relevant laws, regulations and policy materials
• Prepare research notes, presentations or other assigned work
• Support the concerned FSSAI office/division as required
• Students pursuing a full-time Graduate/Post Graduate/Higher Degree from a recognised institution in India or abroad
• Bachelor/Master of Law students are eligible
• Students from areas including Law, Taxation, Policy Regulation, Public Policy, Business Administration, Finance, Economics and related disciplines may apply
• Public Policy/Public Administration postgraduate students are eligible for FSSAI Headquarters
