The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is a statutory regulatory body established under the Competition Act, 2002. It is responsible for promoting and sustaining competition, preventing anti-competitive practices and protecting consumer interests in India.

The Competition Commission of India offers a paid legal internship programme for students interested in Competition Law, antitrust regulation, legal research and regulatory practice. Interns are given practical exposure to the functioning of the Commission and work under designated mentors.
• Conduct legal research relating to Competition Law
• Analyse competition-law and regulatory issues
• Study anti-competitive agreements and market practices
• Assist with legal and policy research
• Contribute to research papers, reports and assigned projects
• Support ongoing legal and regulatory work of the Commission
• Second and third-year students of a 3-year LL.B. programme
• Fourth and final-year students of a 5-year integrated law programme
• Students who have completed their third-year examination and are entering the fourth year
• LL.M. students
• Indian nationals only
• Students from recognised institutions/universities with exposure to Competition Law
• Candidates with a placement in hand are not eligible
Interested candidates must apply in the prescribed CCI application format along with the required institutional recommendation and Statement of Purpose (SOP) through the prescribed application process.
Applications are submitted through the Competition Commission of India’s official internship portal or through the prescribed submission method mentioned in the internship guidelines.
