The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) is a statutory body responsible for the protection and promotion of human rights in India. It works on issues relating to human rights, constitutional rights, social justice, research, and public policy.

Post Details
The NHRC is inviting applications for its Online Short Term Internship Programme (OSTI) 2026. The programme provides students with an opportunity to gain practical exposure to human rights issues, constitutional rights, social justice, research, and public policy through a two-week virtual internship.

• Participate in online sessions and activities under the internship programme
• Study and engage with contemporary human rights issues
• Undertake research relating to human rights and constitutional rights
• Gain exposure to social justice and public policy matters
• Complete assignments and activities as prescribed during the programme
• Participate in academic discussions and learning sessions

• Students enrolled in eligible universities and colleges
• Minimum 60% academic performance
• Students interested in Human Rights, Law, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or Research
• Submission of a 250-word Statement of Purpose (SOP) is required
• Candidates must satisfy the eligibility requirements prescribed by NHRC
