The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is a statutory body of the Government of India responsible for enforcing the Competition Act, 2002 and preventing activities that have an appreciable adverse effect on competition in India.

CCI invites applications for its legal internship programme. The internship provides law students with an opportunity to gain exposure to Competition Law and the functioning of the Commission. The internship is normally for one month and commences on the first working day of the month. Students may also apply for 2–3 calendar months with a recommendation from their university/college/institution. There are 15 seats per month, and selected interns receive an electronic certificate upon successful completion.
• Gain practical exposure to Competition Law and its enforcement.
• Assist in legal research and study relating to competition matters.
• Undertake research work assigned by the concerned mentor/guide.
• Study competition-related legal issues and developments.
• Complete assigned internship/research work under the guidance of CCI officials.
• Students in the 2nd or 3rd year of a 3-year LL.B. course.
• Students in the 4th/final year of a 5-year integrated law course, including students entering the 4th year after completing their 3rd-year examination.
• LL.M. students.
• Only Indian nationals are eligible.
• Applicants should be from recognised institutions/universities and have exposure to Competition Law.
• Students who already have a placement in hand are not eligible.
Interested candidates must apply in the prescribed CCI application format along with a recommendation from the competent authority of their academic institution. Applicants must also submit a Statement of Purpose of approximately 200 words. Applications can be submitted by post or emailed to the designated CCI email address mentioned in the official notification.
