About the Opportunity

Google is hiring a Regulatory Counsel, Content to support legal and regulatory matters related to content governance, online safety, platform regulation, and compliance across its products and services.

The role involves advising business, product, policy, trust & safety, and government affairs teams on legal obligations arising from content-related regulations and evolving digital governance frameworks.

This is a highly specialized in-house counsel role suited for lawyers with experience in technology law, internet regulation, platform governance, media law, public policy, or regulatory compliance.

  • Advise on content regulation and platform governance issues.
  • Interpret and apply emerging technology regulations.
  • Support compliance with digital platform obligations.
  • Provide legal guidance on online safety, harmful content, and user-generated content matters.
  • Partner with Product, Trust & Safety, Public Policy, and Government Affairs teams.
  • Assess regulatory risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with external counsel and regulatory authorities when required.
  • Monitor legal and policy developments affecting Google's services.
  • Support internal investigations and regulatory responses.
  • Draft legal analyses, guidance documents, and compliance frameworks. 

Typically 7+ Years of Relevant Experience


Qualification

  • LL.B. or equivalent law degree
  • Qualified to practice law in at least one jurisdiction 
  • Advise on content regulation and platform governance issues.
  • Interpret and apply emerging technology regulations.
  • Support compliance with digital platform obligations.
  • Provide legal guidance on online safety, harmful content, and user-generated content matters.
  • Partner with Product, Trust & Safety, Public Policy, and Government Affairs teams.
