Tata Institute of Social Sciences is one of India's premier social science institutions and a Deemed University under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Established in 1936, TISS is renowned for its work in social sciences, public policy, labour studies, development research, governance, and community engagement. 

  • Lead and coordinate field-based research activities.
  • Design and supervise surveys, interviews, and data collection exercises.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Analyze research findings and prepare reports.
  • Coordinate with government agencies, NGOs, and community stakeholders.
  • Prepare policy briefs, research papers, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project implementation and ensure timely deliverables.
  • Assist in dissemination of research findings through publications and presentations. 
  • Educational Qualification

    • Postgraduate Degree with at least 55% marks in:
      • Social Sciences
      • Analytics
      • Sustainability Studies
      • Health-related disciplines
      • Other relevant fields
    • M.Phil. or equivalent research degree involving thesis work is desirable.

    Experience

    • Minimum 2 years of research or academic project experience.
    • Experience in field research and project coordination.
    • Exposure to community-based or development-sector research will be preferred.

    Preferred Skills

    • Research methodology and fieldwork management.
    • Data analysis using Excel, SPSS, R, or similar tools.
    • Report writing and documentation.
    • Stakeholder coordination and community engagement.
    • Policy research and evidence-based analysis.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
