How to Apply

The Appellate Tribunal under SAFEMA (Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Act) is a quasi-judicial body in India that hears appeals related to orders passed under SAFEMA and related economic offences. The Tribunal plays a crucial role in adjudicating matters involving foreign exchange violations, smuggling activities, and economic regulatory enforcement. It functions under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India.

  • Conducting detailed legal research on SAFEMA and related statutes
  • Assisting in drafting legal notes and research summaries
  • Analysing case laws and precedents
  • Preparing briefs for tribunal proceedings
  • Supporting judicial officers in legal documentation
  • Any other research-related work assigned by the Tribunal 
  • Law graduates (LLB / LLM preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, and Economic Offences
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills
  • Prior experience in tribunal or litigation work preferred
  • Candidates with interest in enforcement and regulatory law will be preferred
