The Square Circle Clinic is a criminal justice initiative under NALSAR University of Law, formerly known as Project 39A. The organisation works on pro bono criminal defence, death penalty litigation, legal aid, torture prevention, forensic justice, mental health, and criminal justice reform in India. It operates through offices in Delhi, Pune, Nagpur, and Hyderabad. 

  • Conduct legal and empirical research on criminal justice issues
  • Assist in litigation and case preparation
  • Support mitigation investigation and prisoner case documentation
  • Draft reports, legal briefs, and research notes
  • Contribute to strategic communication and public outreach initiatives
  • Assist with administrative and organisational work when required
  • Students enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate programmes in:
    • Law
    • Humanities
    • Social Sciences
    • Psychology/Psychiatry
    • Media & Communication
  • Strong interest in criminal justice and public interest work preferred

  • Good legal research, analytical, and writing skills required
