Hidayatullah National Law University is a premier National Law University established under the Hidayatullah National University of Law Chhattisgarh Act, 2003. The university has established the DPIIT–IPR Chair under the SPRIHA Scheme launched by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, to strengthen intellectual property education, policy research, and academic outreach in India. 

  • Promoting teaching and advanced research in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
  • Conducting policy-oriented and interdisciplinary IPR research
  • Developing academic curricula and IP-focused educational programmes
  • Organizing workshops, conferences, FDPs, seminars, and outreach activities
  • Collaborating with academia, industry, government bodies, and policymakers
  • Mentoring students and researchers in IPR-related domains
  • Supporting DPIIT initiatives under the SPRIHA Scheme 

  • Candidates fulfilling any one of the following criteria may apply:

    • Professor/Associate Professor as per UGC norms with substantial IPR teaching/research experience, OR
    • IP Attorney with minimum 10 years of IPR practice, OR
    • Recognized IPR professional with at least 10 years of experience, OR
    • Retired IP Office official (Level 12 or above) possessing a doctorate degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
