The National Law University Delhi has invited applications for the contractual position of full-time IPR Chair Professor under the DPIIT IPR Chair established by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The Chair functions under the SPRIHA Scheme (Scheme for Pedagogy and Research in IPRs for Holistic Education and Academia) and focuses on advancing intellectual property education, policy research, outreach, and capacity building in India. 

  • Promoting teaching and research in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
  • Developing and strengthening IP curricula and academic programmes
  • Conducting policy-oriented IP research and publishing scholarly outputs
  • Collaborating with academic institutions, industry, and stakeholders
  • Organizing outreach, awareness, and capacity-building initiatives
  • Mentoring students and researchers in IPR-related fields
  • Supporting development of IP knowledge aligned with global best practices

  • Candidates must satisfy any one of the following criteria:

    • Professor/Associate Professor as per UGC norms with IPR experience, OR
    • IP Attorney with minimum 10 years of practice, OR
    • Recognized IPR professional with 10+ years of experience, OR
    • Retired IP Office official (Level 12+) with PhD

    Additional Requirements:

    • Age below 70 years
    • Strong expertise in Intellectual Property Law and policy
    • Academic/research/publication experience preferred
