Education
Minimum: Paralegal Certification or equivalent work experience
Bachelor’s degree in a legal-related discipline preferred
Advanced degree is a plus
Experience
3–5 years of experience in a legal services or legal bill auditing environment
Prior legal bill review experience is mandatory
Strong understanding of US federal and/or state rules of civil procedure
Experience in one or more practice areas such as:
Insurance
Civil Litigation
Intellectual Property
Corporate Law
Banking
The Consultant – LBA will be responsible for:
Reviewing and auditing legal fee and expense invoices submitted electronically
Ensuring compliance with legal billing guidelines
Verifying accuracy of UTBMS task, activity, and expense codes
Making and documenting justified invoice line-item adjustments
Communicating with Legal Invoice Analysts, QA Analysts, and management
Supporting quality assurance reviews and reconsideration requests
Conducting audit and data analysis to support performance metrics
Assisting in developing operational tools, SOPs, and training materials
Mentoring and training junior Legal Invoice Analysts
Liaising with AI and Decision Science teams to improve billing audit systems
Maintaining high standards of accuracy, judgment, and discretion
