The IILS Law Review, published by the Indian Institute of Legal Studies (IILS), is inviting original scholarly submissions for Volume XIII, Issue I (March 2027).

Bearing ISSN 2320-5318, IILS Law Review is a double peer-reviewed journal providing a platform for academic discourse on law, emerging legal trends and contemporary socio-legal issues.

Submissions are invited from academicians, practitioners, students, researchers and experts.

The journal particularly encourages submissions that advance and defend a clear and well-reasoned position on contemporary legal and socio-legal questions.

Nature of Contributions:

Articles: 4,000–6,000 words

Articles should provide a comprehensive analysis of the chosen area of law, including examination of the existing legal framework, conclusions and suggestions.

Notes: Maximum 2,500 words

Notes should address relatively new debates or controversies concerning the interpretation or implementation of law and are expected to offer solutions to contemporary issues.

Comments: Maximum 2,500 words

Authors may critique recent or landmark judicial pronouncements, legislation, or bills before Parliament or State Legislatures.

Book Reviews: 1,800–2,000 words

Reviews should identify the book’s central idea and evaluate its approach, style and premises while incorporating relevant suggestions and recent legal developments.

The full paper must be submitted along with the abstract.

Intimation of Selection: 19 December 2026

Abstract & Keywords:

✍️ Abstract: 200–300 words

Keywords: Maximum 5 keywords

Abstracts must be in Times New Roman, 12 pt, italics, 1.15 line spacing and justified alignment.

General Submission Guidelines:

• Manuscript Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

• Line Spacing: 1.5

• Alignment: Justified

• Margins: 1 inch on all sides

• Main Title: Times New Roman, 14 pt, centred and bold

• Citation Style: Bluebook, 21st Edition

• Footnotes: Times New Roman, 10 pt, single-spaced and justified

• Endnotes are not permitted

Co-Authorship:

A manuscript may have up to two co-authors.

One author must be designated as the corresponding author and identified accordingly in the declaration form.

Review Process:

All submissions will undergo blind peer review.

Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts based on reviewers’ comments.

The review process may take approximately 6–8 weeks, following which authors may be informed of acceptance, rejection or required revisions.

Plagiarism Policy:

The journal states that plagiarism is permissible up to 10%, and plagiarism beyond this threshold will result in rejection.

Authors are required to submit a plagiarism report along with the manuscript and declaration.

• Postal address

Authors must also provide the prescribed Declaration of Authorship, confirming the originality of the manuscript and that it is neither published elsewhere nor under consideration by another journal.
